The Jackery 500 portable generator comes in handy for photographers who need to consider a reliable power source for their camera and other equipment. I often find it challenging to find a power source at outdoor photoshoots or working in remote locations. This is especially true for full day or multiple day shoots outdoors. Sometimes, I travel light for basic shoots, but when I’m on a paid project, I make sure to be prepared for anything. That’s why I carry my Jackery 500. During the last weeklong event of the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, where I take hundreds of photos a day, the Jackery 500 was essential for keeping my camera gear, MacBook Pro, GoPro, and extra batteries charged throughout the day and week.

Most of the time, I keep it in the back of my Toyota 4Runner. Rather than draining my car battery, I can charge my equipment while driving or parked. It’s not uncommon to have three or four items charging all at once. And it works great!
The Jackery 500 was a lifesaver when I was shooting all day outdoors at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands Bridge.
